Our Executive Team

Mark Savage
Managing Director
Mark Savage is the founder and driving force of PMGroup. Under his leadership the company has grown from its inception in November 1988 to become a highly successful business, employing over 30 staff, and boasting an unrivalled portfolio of magazines, directories, awards, guides and digital information for the pharmaceutical industry. more...
The idea for Pharmaceutical Marketing (PM) came out of Mark's experience as group advertising director for the medical division of Haymarket Publishing, where he realised that there was a gap in the market for a niche publication like PM aimed at marketing decision makers in the pharmaceutical industry. The continued growth of the company is down to Mark's vision for PMGroup to become a leading provider of information for pharmaceutical marketers. This has led to expansion into Europe and the USA, as well as development of digital information now accessible in increasingly innovative ways.
"The key to our success is keeping in touch with the market place. Good communication with people at all levels in the industry is vital to spot emerging trends and new opportunities. We remain a vibrant organisation, with a dedicated team of people who can recognise and respond to changes quickly in an intelligent and innovative way."

Trish Savage
Director
Trish Savage has been involved behind the scenes with PMGroup since before the first issue of Pharmaceutical Marketing was published in May 1989. Joining PMGroup officially in 1995 as marketing director, Trish brought with her a wealth of marketing experience and professionalism gained in her previous roles as therapeutic area operations manager and head of advertising and publicity at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals. more...
The successful launch of her brainchild Communiqué first in the UK and later in the US is just one example of the group's brand expansion programme, which has added an exciting and innovative raft of products and services to the original offering. As the company has grown, being both a director and co-owner, Trish has taken on a more strategic role, developing business plans and targets to ensure continued growth. As to the future, Trish is confident that with new initiatives always in the pipeline, PMGroup will continue to expand, whilst maintaining its reputation as the première information source for marketing decision makers in the pharmaceutical industry.
"The thing I am most proud of is the professionalism, passion and commitment of our team. Through them we have achieved a market leadership position, ensured the financial strength of the group and engendered respect in the marketplace. We punch way above our weight but, importantly, always remember to have fun."
Clare Bates
Editorial Director
From journalist in the oil and gas industries, via staff writer at Acquisitions Monthly to deputy editor at Global Reinsurance, Clare's business and financial background has added a new dimension to the editorial team. In 2002 Clare joined PMGroup as assistant editor on Pharmaceutical Marketing, she was promoted to editorial director in 2007 and is now responsible for all editorial output across the entire PMGroup portfolio of publications, including online. more...
Her commercial acumen led to the launch of the New Health Strategies supplements. Clare's overall aim for the group is that its publications will be seen to have as much gravitas in the pharmaceutical industry as the FT does in the world of finance. Expert opinions, key information and authoritative analysis, all presented in an exciting, easily digestible format.
"The best thing about working for PMGroup is the diversity in every role, unlike larger corporations you are not defined by your job title, you have greater autonomy, you can put a lot more of yourself into the job which means that you get a lot more out."
Anneliese Cameron
Operations Director
After 15 years in the music industry, promoting top class recording artists such as Pavarotti and Plácido Domingo, Anneliese Cameron joined PMGroup in 2004 as marketing manager. Three years later she was promoted to operations director, where she set in place new processes and structures, creating project teams for the ever-expanding portfolio of PMGroup products and services. This has allowed what is still an independent family run business to grow in a structured way so that everyone is part of a team and can make a difference to the success of the company. more...
Anneliese is also well known for her role in running the prestigious Communiqué and Pharmaceutical Marketing Effectiveness Awards (PMEA). She is determined to take these awards forward, keeping them at the cutting edge by acting on feedback, adapting to the changing marketplace, and introducing exciting innovations.
"The reputation that PMGroup has is fantastic. It's all down to our independence, our people and our passion. I want to make sure that we keep that reputation for quality in all that we do, so that our publications remain the ones to be seen in and our awards, the ones to win."

Karl Equi
Creative Director
From his northern roots where he trained in graphic design and worked as art director on The Crack, the North East's equivalent of Time Out, Karl Equi joined the design team at PMGroup in 1999. In 2005 he was made creative director and now manages the design studio, having the final creative view on all print and digital output. more...
For the last three years Karl has also taken on the responsibility for repositioning the digital side of the business more centrally within PMGroup. The company is now seen not just as a publishing house, but as an information provider for the pharmaceutical industry, much of it in digital format. Karl has driven forward the digital process, using his creativity and design skills to make sure that the system architecture allows easy access to information and controls the flow of information in the most useful way.
"The PMGroup brand is all important. We don't let anything out of the door unless we feel 100% confident that everyone in the company will be proud of the final product."

Gill Hollis
Sales Director
Gill Hollis joined the company in April 2008 as sales director. For the four years prior to her appointment, Gill worked with PMGroup in a consultative capacity on company strategy, training and sales. Having previously been MD of Haymarket Publishing and director of a recruitment consultancy, Gill has all the qualities both to lead the sales team forward and to develop advertising opportunities in the market place. more...
Looking to the future Gill wants to develop and expand Pharmaceutical Marketing Europe (PME) and to make the most of the advertising opportunities offered by the development of the PMLiVE website which is to become the vehicle for driving the company forward.
"The people at PMGroup are passionate about publishing, we have an amazingly creative portfolio, with a fantastic choice of innovative opportunities for advertisers to reach their target market."

Keith Shilson
Production Director
With over 20 years in the print industry and having worked his way up through the reprographics trade, Keith Shilson knows everything there is to know about print. In 1998 Keith left AE Morgan where he was responsible for producing MIMS, to join PMGroup as production manager. He sees his role as being a channel for all PMGroup print activities, from print buying and scheduling to making sure that each print job progresses through the factory smoothly. more...
Keith's aim is to ensure that PMGroup retains its reputation for quality publications. This means dedication, hard work, attention to detail, not cutting corners, agonising over the minutiae and staying at the forefront of technology with print finishes, processes and IT.
"Our ethos is quality first, quality second, quality third. The whole production team are dedicated to getting it right, taking ownership for the job. We work hard and play hard, it's a great atmosphere to work in."
